My wife and I worked with Mark to list and sell our condo in early 2018 after first meeting him the previous fall. It's safe to say we both liked Mark from the start. Mark had the confidence that came from successfully working in Bay Area real estate for so long and yet was very easy to talk to, taking the time to understand us and our desires for our condo sale. One thing, in particular, was a desire we had to sell to a family, not someone who would just rent the condo out. Mark understand and accepted this, weeding out what he suspected were the investor offers and even telling another Intero agent who wanted to purchase it himself for renting that we wouldn't be interested. Given the low inventory at the time of year we were listing, Mark recommended a solid plan for how to best fix up our condo and how to list it. This included painting, carpet replacement, and a few other minor fixes to the condo, and then of course staging, all of which Mark took care of with his go-to contractors at a very reasonable price. We were very pleased with the results and had family members telling us how nice the condo looked in the listing pictures. Mark understood the market enough to keep the asking price low, similar to the asking price for 3 other condos that had sold in our complex in the prior 6 months, and this turned out very well for driving up interest and foot traffic into the open house. In addition to listing, Mark provided what turned out to be great advice on initial offers. We received 2 offers before the open house, both of which expired before the scheduled date for the open house. These were strong offers, and one of which was from buyers represented by one of the agents in Mark's office. My wife and I were unsure whether to accept or not but to go forward with the open house after a good discussion with Mark. The advice worked well as we got an even better offer after the open house, but I think the advice was good regardless of the outcome because we would have always been questioning whether we could have gotten a better offer. Working with Mark was a great experience all around, and we would eagerly work with him again for any future real estate sales.

I was selling my mother’s house after she lived in it for sixty years and Mark DeTar was recommended to me because of his knowledge of the Alum Rock area in which the house is located. I chose him because I liked that he has a history of many transactions in the area and it was my desire for the timing to be quick. At our first meeting, he was professional and friendly and gave a detailed package of information on the property. Even with the added conditions of COVID-19, the market was still running hot and he had a strategy for pricing, timing, and readying the house for sale. Though selling our childhood home was an emotional process for me and my siblings, we had no stress with the process because of Mark. He was always quick to respond to any question or concern and he and his whole team took me through the process of house preparation, showings, multiple offers, and final closing by anticipating all that was needed and handling it with ease. In the end, we had a very successful outcome because we got a price substantially above asking, as he had advised that we would be pretty awesome. I wholeheartedly recommend Mark DeTar if you're considering buying or selling a home in the valley.

If you're looking for a Realtor® to sell your home, Mark DeTar is an excellent choice. His knowledge of our neighborhood, its schools, and an overall feel for what buyers are looking for when buying a home was remarkable. One of the many other positive experiences was Mark's ability to work with us. We gave him an outline for how we wanted our house sold and he kindly offered his own suggestions and advice when asked. He doesn't force himself on you and tells you what you need to do. Listen to what he has to say though, as his twenty-five years in the real estate market are extremely valuable! Along with being very professional, Mark is level-headed and calm, a great plus when it comes to the stresses of selling your home. He answers your questions, calls, texts in a very timely fashion. He's also friendly, open, and warm. Not just attributes you want from someone who you're working closely with, but you know the buyers will experience as well. Overall, our experience with Mark was wonderful. If you get a chance to work with him and have him sell your home, you will not be disappointed.

After her first phone call to us, Jessica's enthusiasm and positivity got her the job on the very first day of our home buying process. Ours was a fast tracker purchase and Jessica was at full speed within hours. During the negotiation and escrow periods, day or evening, she picked up the phone every time I called or texted with questions (and there were plenty). She evolved every detail of the process and taught me a lot about getting a home purchase done properly and safely. She helped us through the many revolving paperwork doors with the seller, lender, and title co-up to the closing. She was always there for us when we needed her. My wife and I quickly figured out from the get-go that she was the real deal and that we had picked the right agent. We closed on time and without hiccups. 5 Stars.

Highly recommend! Mark helped me sell my parent's home in San Jose and is very experienced to deal with the unique real estate market in Silicon Valley. He and his team made the process easy and they were always just a textphone call away. After looking at the home, Mark recommended a plan to get the home ready to show, which included minor fixes and updates (e.g. sod, paint, deep clean). He also arranged for staging and professional photos to make the home "pop" in virtual showings (due to COVID). He priced it just right to drive interest. We received multiple offers within one week and ultimately accepted an offer that was over the list price. Working with Mark has been a great experience.

I'm a firm believer in this premise, 'consult a professional, and by that decree, I listed my home with Beth Obenour-DeBendetti. Beth was and is in fact, the consummate professional. Beth knew when to ask my opinion and when to impose her guidance (i.e. there are lots of decisions that easily get clouded by stress), but Beth was always organized, informed and sensible. I let her take total management or direction of the listing; from pricing, home improvements, and staging. In addition, since my home was renter-occupied, Beth handled the negotiations with the tenant that made a tough situation very agreeable for all. I could not have been more pleased with Beth's work and professionalism.
